Lough Hyne Cottage

lough hyne cottage near baltimore view from lough hyne cottage

A nature lover's paradise, Lough Hyne and its beauty is so enchanting and its marine life so unique and varied, it became Ireland's first and only Marine Nature Reserve in 1979. Lough Hyne Cottage and Lands are also within the proposed National Heritage and Scientific Area of Ireland.

Lough Hyne Cottage is a luxuriously appointed residence on its own private lands. The original 17th century farmhouse was lovingly restored in 1988, receiving a West Cork Environmental Award in 1991. The cottage stands on 18 private acres perched high up on the hillside overlooking the Lough and Castle Island. Here on a rugged, breathtaking and unspoilt mountainside sloping to the lakes and atlantic sea-shorelines, you can become part of the unusual and beautiful and romantic natural environments. Panoramic views of the lake and the Atlantic Ocean are available.
