Baltimore Walky-Talky Weekend October 2010

Programme:

All walks are guided.
Cost €5.00 per person per walk,
€2.50 young people aged 10 to 15,
Children under 10 - free.

Friday :

Launch of Walking Festival - Friday
Music by Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann.

Saturday :

* Reengaroga Island

Meet at the Sibin Bar / Rath Church car park at 10.45 am registration & departure for a guided coastal walk on the island of Reengaroga. Walk approx 2.5 hours. Optional lunch afterwards in the Sibin Bar. Suitable for all including buggies.

* Cape Clear Island

Meet on Baltimore pier for ferry trip to Cape Clear (depart Cailín Óir at 10.30 or Naomh Ciarán II at 11am) followed by registration & guided walk on Cape Clear Island. Return ferry at 3.30 or 4 pm from Cape. Ferry cost extra at €16 pp, family €40 & children €5. Walk approx 2.5 hours. Suitable for all terrain buggies.

Music on Saturday Night: Caseys of Baltimore, Hotel

Sunday:

* Lough Hyne Nature Reserve

Meet at Lough Hyne, main Car Park for 10.15 am registration & departure for a guided walk in Europe’s first designated Nature Reserve. Hilly terrain, walk approx 3 hours. Not suitable for buggies or young children.

* Sherkin Island

Meet on Baltimore pier for 1:45 pm registration and 2 pm departure to Sherkin Island followed by a guided walk and finishing in “The Jolly Roger Tavern” for a music & sing-song session. Return ferries at 5 or 5.45
