| There
are so many lovely walks around Baltimore that we feel it's
hardly necessary to tell you where to go. We're sure you'll
enjoy it whichever way you head off!
However, just to give you a few ideas, up the hill behind
the village are heather-covered slopes with dry stone walls
enclosing small fields. From there you get a superb view of
Baltimore and the islands. Or head out past the Cove to the
Baltimore Beacon (also known as Lot's wife), another good
vantage point.
If you like superb views and don't mind a very steep climb,
drive to Lough Hyne and climb the hill behind it. Make sure
it's a clear day and you won't be disappointed.
Please remember to take all your litter home with you, leave
gates as you find them and keep dogs on leads when near cattle,
sheep and horses.
Combine your walking with a garden visit or a game of golf
or, better still, let the horse do the walking! If Ilen Rovers
are playing, cheer them on.
